Hello, my name is Armani Garcia and I have been

working in the creative design field for almost seven

(7) years. I have done everything from freelance work, to

joining a corporate entity, to working in a small & medium-

sized enterprise agency.

Art and design has been a big part of my personal

and professional life. From freehand drawing, to photo

manipulation, to print layouts, to web design, and even a

bit of video editing, I have developed all the skills needed

to deliver designs that pleases or even go beyond every

client’s expectation without compromising my personal

design ideals.

This portfolio showcases some of my previous works

from various clients here in the UAE as well as back in the

Philippines.

There is a feeling of fulfillment whenever a printed design project materializes exactly the way you pictured

it in your head. They say that print media is a dying medium, but to be honest, that is when a designer

feels the most alive. There is nothing more elating than having your work printed, pressed and delivered

right to your doorstep.

Here are some design projects on print that I have done for various clients:

DUBAI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY ANNUAL REPORTS

Dubai Chamber was established

to support and protect the Dubai

business community.

As a client, Dubai Chamber,

a government entity, follows

a strict and formal branding

guideline which more often that

not confines you to produce the

same look for every artwork. It

takes a certain level of creativity

to go beyond what the client are

used to seeing and at the same

time still follow the guidelines

provided.

I was the main designer for their

2013 and 2014 annual reports

often collaborating with their

project managers as to what

direction we should go with

the project; they say what they

want to see, I, in turn, give them

options on how they can present

them accordingly with a touch of

creativity.

MARKA PJSC: INITIAL MARKETING BROCHURES AND COLLATERALS

Marka is the UAE’s first publicly

traded retail operator focusing

exclusively on the Fashion,

Hospitality and Sports sectors.

In their initial foray, we were

tapped to produce their PR and

marketing materials. We were

tasked to develop their website

and provide marketing collaterals.

I was enthusiastic about this

project as I get to break free

from my usual corporate projects

where there’s more room for

creativity.

ARABIAN FALCON HOLIDAY BUSINESS REPORTS

THE FILIPINO TIMES WEEKLY NEWS PUBLICATION

Arabian Falcon Holidays is

currently the largest independent

timeshare sales and marketing

company in the Middle East.

Their business reports required

a clear reflection of luxury and

prominence that they sell.

The Filipino Times is a weekly

news publication that caters to

Filipinos in the UAE. Its goal is to

make its audience feel as if they

are still close to home.

Our team came up with the

whole design concept that will

sway away from the tabloid feel.

We incorporated colors from

the Philippine flag to strongly

represent what the publication is

really aiming at. From its launch to

late April, I worked on the weekly

paper with one more designer in

tow. The ultimate challenge is the

submission of a perfectly laid out

newspaper in a very short amount

of preparation time.

THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING—ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING CAMPAIGN PITCH

The client wanted to

have a call-to-action

campaign against

human trafficking, but

with a few restrictions in

place such as no strong

photos or imageries or

don’t present it as if UAE

has a human trafficking

problem, etc.

I submitted this pitch,

concept and all, to go

around said restrictions

and at the same time

deliver to them a

campaign that has a high

impact value.

The first pitch uses a

hashtag campaign to

promote the opposite of

what human trafficking

does to its victims (or the

opposite effect of human

trafficking): freedom.

The second pitch aims

to inform people that

human trafficking is

a global matter, that

everyone should be

concerned and aware.

‘Taste Of Italy by Heinz

Beck,’ a hospitality acquisition

by Marka PJSC, offers a full-

fledged casual restaurant for

deserts, gelato, pastries and

breads, as well as the widely

hailed Italian food that made

Beck’s name. Chef Heinz Beck

is a five star Michelin chef

renowned worldwide.

My team and I provided

Marka PJSC with marketing

materials for their press launch

as well as the placement

hoardings for their upcoming

restaurant acquisition.

This is the digital generation, and for years now, designs, as well as designers, catered to the call for a more

visually pleasing World Wide Web. In this day and age, where user interfaces and interactions can correlate

to the success of a website, it is a designer’s job to show how it will all come together—organically and fluidly.

MARKA PJSC: IPO AND INITIAL RETAIL WEBSITE

As the first of its kind to

be publicly traded, Marka

needed a website where

they can share who or what

they are to their interested

traders and investors.

We presented a simple

and elegant website

interface where all a viewer

needs to do is click on a

tab and learn everything

there is to learn about the

company.

The primary retail website

focused on Marka PJSC’s

initial brand acquisitions

for their retail, sports, and

hospitality departments.

The website needs to

have all of these brand

pages and at the same

retain the function it has for

when it was still an IPO.

PHILIPPINE PROPERTY AND INVESTMENT EXHIBITION WEBSITE

The largest Philippine Property and Investment

Exhibition in the Middle East, in 2014, made a history

in the UAE and in the region by bringing in more than

4,000 quality visitors.

The website was designed as a primer for the event

informing attendees and possible investors alike on

what they should expect from the event.

Presented images are final mock-ups and actual finished product may vary.

MAX GRENARD: CULINARY ARCHITECT WEBSITE

The proprietor of Casa de Tapas and Cielo Sky

Lounge to name some, Max Grenard wanted to

rebrand himself from being just a “Chef” to a “Culinary

Architect.” Together with a brand new logo, I also

redesigned his website to reflect his growth from

being a chef to a restaurateur.

EMIRATES GLOBAL ALUMINUN (EGA) THE JOURNEY NEWSLETTER

EGA is an aluminum

conglomerate, with its merged

core operating assets Dubai

Aluminum (“DUBAL”) and Emirates

Aluminum (“EMAL”).

After the merger, EGA needed

to rebrand its online newsletter to

reflect their new identity

VARIOUS WEBSITE PITCHES / MOCK-UPS

These mock-ups were options given to the client and though some of them did not become an actual

website, I was happy on how these pitches and mock-ups turned out.

Clients include Marka, Royal Club Dubai, and Arabian Agencies.

Branding, or at the very least,

designing a logo for a client, has

always been a dream job for every

designer. We know how important a

brand is to a company and we always

want to see how our designs would

fare against top logo brands, so we

always give it our all whenever the

opportunity presents itself.

Here are some branding and logo

designs that I have worked on in the

past:

AVON PH EVENTS LOGOS

In the Philippines, Avon is the

No. 1 company for women. Having

worked there for a couple of years, I

had the opportunity to provide them

with event logos suitable for each of

their every campaign.

BRAINS AT WORK REBRAND

Brains At Work is a corporate events

coordinate working in and around the UAE.

Along with their original logo, they had

multiple sub-logos for sub-departments

and services that warrants rebranding.

Initially, they wanted to have Yalla Teams

and Hotel & Venues (which they then

named Veneuz) to have a much bigger

brand call out. Here are my designs for

their logos:

PHILIPPINE PROPERTY AND INVESTMENT EXHIBITION (PPIE)

The idea behind PPIE logo is structure, being one of

the biggest real estate events, I wanted convey a feel

for construction; a collection of shapes and sizes that

create a single form.

UNITED TECHNOLOGIES 2014 KICKOFF EVENT LOGO

United Technologies, the mother company of Carrier,

Otis and Fire & Security, commissioned this logo

through a third party, for their annual Kickoff Event.

MAX GRENARD: CULINARY ARCHITECT LOGO

Max Grenard wanted to have a flowing logo but still with

a hint of rigid masculinity. He also wanted one that could

stand the test of time and trend so I made it simple and

direct to the point.

NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING LOGO PITCH

Both logo focuses on a flying bird with wings stretched out, looking like it is

about to take off to the skies, which depicts a sense of freedom.

MELANGE

MELANGE LOGO

Mélange is an online store

that sells a variety of things

hence the name. I decided to

go with a magpie theme, as

magpies are known to collect

beautiful shiny things, just like

this online store.

THE FILIPINO TIMES RIZAL AWARDS LOGO

As The Filipino Times newspaper is

nearing its first year anniversary, they

decided to celebrate the event with an

award-giving gala recognizing talented

Filipinos in the UAE. They named the

event after the Philippines’s national hero.

Corporate presentations and infographics seem like a footnote in the bigger scheme of designing things,

but let me tell you this: it takes a big chunk of a designer’s time. Understanding the numbers alone can

seem like a taxing job, and as a designer, you need to turn those numbers into something people will easily

understand in a glance.

report needed to be done in both

Past annual reports from NCCHT have

infographics taken from different reports.

It was unbalanced and uneven that is why

I made them uniform all throughout the

document so as to present a unified theme.
