Once there was a little girl called Aline who wondered what shewould be one day...
Her grandparents loved her, but they didn’t want her to follow theartistic world. They said people who followed this path were toopromiscuous and had a hard life, because they didn’t earn enoughmoney to make ends meet...
Her father wanted her to be a public servant, a nurse, an engineer,a doctor maybe or anything that would guarantee her enoughmoney to be independent and would also make her happy...
Her said she could be anything she wanted as long as she chosesomething honest, descent and which she could earn enough to beindependent and be happy. So, her mother suggested she cold be alawyer or a teacher...
Until one day she saw...
... a pink bailarina dancing and she immediately decided what shewanted to be...
But since she didn’t like pink so much, she decided she would be ablue bailarina...
When she told her parents that she wanted to be a blue bailarina theybecame worried, because they knew that is a profession not wellrecognised and valued in Brazil, yet... Also, it’s a very competitiveprofession with a very short period of life, the older you get more difficultit is to continue being a bailarina...
...She tought for a long time about what her parents had told her andabout the arguments they used...
The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to become ablue bailarina...
She talked to her friends who were also ballet dancers and theytold her they suffered the same kind of pressure at home, becausetheir parents used to say the same things to them... They listened veryrespectfully to them, but then just carried on with their dream...
After listening to everyone and analysing all the pros and cons, shemade up her ming, She decided she would fight for her dreams andovercome all the obstacles she would find on her way to accomplishher goal...
Althoug she knew that her most difficult obstacle to overcome would beher inner feelings, like the feeling of being insecure and afraid of failingand not achieving her goals and feeling like a sucker. She had to face allthese inner ghosts that haunted her before facing other obstacles ...
There were days when she thought about surrending and giving upeverything, but then she remembered that God was her strenght andwhenever she prayed to Him... Her faith on everything was renewed andonly then she could find strenght to carry on
...And so, by doing what made her happy, by doing what she needed tobecome independent and by renewing her strength through prayers, herheart found peace and she ended up doing both the things she loved andwhat she needed...
For she discoveredthat one thing doesnot have to excludeanother. She foundout she couldachieve her dreamspart time and alsohave a steady job togive her the financilsupport in times ofneed... But, most ofall, she knew thather strehght couldalways be renewedthrough her prayers.
And even she couldnot dance all thetimes, she was ahappy girl, because inher heart she wouldalways be – Aline, theblue bailarina...
