Madison and Elissa had not heard from their daughter since Bennett’s wedding, so Elissa decided to stop by the Cornett home one day and found that Aly and Emmett had their hands full.

Grandma Elissa was a welcomed sight. Little Dalton was now a toddler, nearly a child and a big boy. He successfully babbled away to his grandmother as she showered him with affection.

Aly had also given birth to twin girls, nearly less than a year after Dalton’s birth. Ashleigh was the oldest, born ten minutes ahead of Julia. She had dark hair like her father. She was also a very evil child when grandma wasn’t around.

Julia was a happy baby, with her mother’s blonde hair. Her laughter fluttered through the Cornet t household and made Elissa miss having a youngster in her home.

The Greene family decided to adopt a puppy after one of their neighbors’ dogs gave birth. They named the little tyke Shijou. He was a terror and ate or chewed on everything he could get his puppy teeth on.

When Kerri was not pursuing her career in Athletics, she was pursuing her dream of being an author. She published one book called “Love in the Desert.” The reviews were awful and it was named a trashy romance novel. For her second attempt, Kerri chose drama and titled the book “The Irigandon Code.”

Kerri also discovered that her bout of the “flu” was nothing more than morning sickness. She and Bennett were soon to become parents. This gave Kerri more time to work on her book and pushed Bennett to try harder at work in order to provide for his growing family.

Carter and Sharon had also married. Embarrassed by her weight and the fact that she couldn’t wear a tight wedding dress, Carter agreed to have a private wedding at the pond next to their house. The couple practically eloped, sneaking out one night and returning home the next morning married.

A few months passed and before the Greene family knew it Kerri was going into labor.

“Bennett, Bennett!” she screeched, trying to breathe through the pain. “Wake up and take me to the hospital!”

Bennett did in fact get Kerri to the hospital in time to give birth to two beautiful twin daughters, Daisy and Danielle. Being twins, they were both born a little underweight. Daisy was 4 pounds 9 ounces while Danielle was 5 pounds 2 ounces. The girls shared the friendly trait. Daisy however was a genius while Danielle was excitable.

Even though he was a young adult now, Carter had not given up on his logic ways. His genius trait was constantly shining through in the things that he said and did. He gained logic skill by playing chess online, always conquering his opponent.

When the twins were sleeping, Kerri took some time to herself during maternity leave to finish her drama. It gained better reviews than her first novel, but still didn’t return the royalties Kerri was hoping to get as a famous author in the futur

Bennett also took several days off when the twins were born. When he was not playing with his beautiful daughters, he was working out, keeping his body toned in preparation for returning to work. His perseverance paid off when he received another promotion upon returning to the department.

Elissa also earned a promotion. She waved goodbye to her Vice President position and finally completed her lifetime wish to become the Leader of the Free World. She couldn’t believe her luck. She still had her husband, three beautiful children, a handsome son-in-law, two beautiful daughter-in-laws and five healthy grandbabies.

The twins were soon rambunctious toddlers. And it was clear who the favorite was for each parent. Little Danielle had lighter hair and was the apple of her mother’s eye…

While Daisy was Bennett’s favorite. Her little eyes tugged at his heart strings and he showered her with affection.

The Greene family could not live in their happiness for long, though. Madison Greene had passed away without naming an heir. He’d left a will behind which Elissa kept in a locked drawer next to the bed. She knew she would have to reveal its contents to her sons soon enough, but for now she drowned in her grief.

A week later, Elissa sat down on the couch in the family room and glanced over at Bennett and Carter, opening the envelope which held her late husband’s will. She knew the contents would hold the future of the Greene family and hoped, no matter which son was named heir, they would continue to have a strong friendship.

“Mom, would you just get on with it?” Bennett asked, impatiently. Carter could not even look at his mother.

“Boys, your father wanted to be here to hand over the responsibilities of the legacy. I know this decision was very hard for him and I tried to provide him with the support he needed. You both have very strong leadership qualities of which he was very proud. I’m going to read his will now,” Elissa said, cautiously unfolding the paper.

“Finally, I leave my house and the legacy to my youngest son, Carter Ryan. Upon my death, he and his wife will take over the family traditions and keep the Greene name going for generations to come,” Elissa ended, taking a deep breath and looking over at her boys.

“Congratulations, bro,” Bennett said, looking at his brother, who sat in complete shock. “Kerri, the girls and I will move out of the house tomorrow. It’s too cramped for all of us.” He stood up and hugged his mother, who followed him out of the room.

“I can’t believe he chose me…” Carter mumbled under his breath, seeing his past life flash before him and feeling ready to pick up the legacy where his father had left off.
