Ruhi Sarıalp (December 15, 1924 in Manisa – March 3, 2001) was a Turkish track and field athlete, who competed mainly in the triple jump. He competed for Turkey in the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the triple jump, where he won the bronze medal with a mark of 15.02 m.

He started athletics during his education at the military high school in Konya. In 1945, he broke the Turkish record in triple jump. After his bronze medal jump at the Olympics, he won another bronze medal at the 1950 European Athletics Championships in Brussels,Belgium. He became so the first ever track and field athlete from Turkey to win a medal at the Olympics and the European Championships.

Kenan SOFUOĞLUKenan Sofuoğlu (born August 25, 1984 in Kuzuluk, Akyazı) is Turkish professional motorcycle racer, who has won the highest number of Supersport World Championship titles: three, in 2007, 2010 and 2012.

He competed in Moto2 for the Technomag-CIP team, having made his debut at the end of 2010 and remained with the team for the 2011 season. He previously won the Supersport World Championship for the Ten Kate Honda in 2007 and 2010, and he is the championship's all-time leading race winner, having won 17 races. He raced in the World Superbike Championship for Ten Kate in 2008, but with limited success.

Tanju ÇOLAKTanju Çolak (born 10 November 1963 in Samsun) is a retired Turkish footballer, who played as a striker.

He made his debut for Samsun Yolspor. From there he was transferred to Samsunspor in 1981 where he was the top scorer in both the 1985–86 and 1986–87 seasons. Çolak then moved to Galatasaray in the end of 1986–87 season. He was the top scorer in Europe with 39 goals in the 1987–88 season. At the same time, he was awarded the European Golden Boot given by France Football.

Hamza YERLİKAYAHamza Yerlikaya (born June 6, 1976, in Kadıköy, Istanbul) is a Turkish Graeco-Roman style wrestler. He is a two-time (in 1996 and 2000) Olympic champion, three-time World Champion (1993, 1995, and 2005), and the only Turkish wrestler to ever become European champion eight times. He was named The Wrestler of the century in 1996 by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA).

He has won three more World Championships (2002, 2003 and (at 96 kg) 2005). He has won the European Seniors Championship eight times (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006).

Naim SüleymanoğluNaim Süleymanoğlu (born Naim Suleimanov (Bulgarian: Наим Сюлейманов) on January 23, 1967) is a Turkish World and Olympic Champion in weightlifting. Nicknamed “The Pocket Hercules”, he became the strongest man ever, pound-for-pound, by lifting 3.16 times of his body weight in 1988 Summer Olympics (190 kg in clean and jerk). He won three Olympic, seven world Championships and six European titles and set 46 world records.

Halil MUTLUHalil Mutlu (born Halil Aliev (Bulgarian: Халил Алиев) on July 14, 1973 in Postnik, Bulgaria) is a professional Turkish weightlifter with several World and Olympic championships. Mutlu is one of the four weightlifters achieving three consecutive gold medals at the Olympic Games. His weightlifting career includes five World championships, nine European championships and more than 20 world records at 52 kg (115 lb), 54 kg (119 lb) and 56 kg (123 lb) combined.

Elvan ABEYLEGESSEElvan Abeylegesse, (also formerly: Hewan Abeye ( Amharic) and Elvan Can (Turkish); born September 11, 1982) is an Ethiopian-born Turkish middle and long distance track and field athlete who runs in the disciplines of 1500 m, 3000 m and 5000 m, but also 10000 m, 2 miles and cross country. She is the former world-record holder for 5000 m, at 14:24.68.

Semih SAYGINERSemih Saygıner (born November 12, 1964, in Adapazarı, Turkey) nicknamed Mr. Magic and the Turkish Prince, is a Turkish professional carom billiards player.

He won the 1999 CEB European Three-cushion Championship by defeating Dion Nelin of Denmark.

In 2003, Saygıner won the UMB World Three-cushion Championship by disposing of Filipos Kasidokostas of Greece. He's the only Turk ever to win it. That same year, he won the last World Three-cushion Championship organized by the BWA by besting Dick Jaspers.

Arda was ranked 38th in The 100 best footballers in the world by The Guardian in 2014. On 25 November 2014, Turan was nominated for the UEFA Team of the Year for 2014, among 40 other players.
