Pre - Travel arrangements

What things should we have ready before travelling?

•Photocopy of Passport, Credit Cards, Tickets, etc..

•Phone Numbers to call for replacement

•Leave Itinerary for Parents / Family

•Map of destination, hotel route etc…

•Have vaccination – if needed – done

•Pack the essential things in the carry-on luggage

• Try to have luggage with wheels• Carry the allowable weight – 23 kg / bag• Be careful lifting the luggage out of the car• Laptops– Have a padded shoulder strap– Alternate between shoulders– Put accessories and extra batteries in suitcase

Ergonomics - Luggage

If Travelling by Air

• From your seat – Count number of rows to the

nearest Emergency exit

• Listen to Safety briefing by flight attendant

• In case of accident, listen to flight attendants

• Wear seat belt when indicated

• Don’t behave inappropriately

If Travelling by Land

• If hiring a car, use one without the car rental logo

• Keep the luggage in the trunk

• Become familiar with vehicle safety features

• Ensure lights, door locks and spare function properly

• Be wary of pulling over – especially in dark places

• Wear seat the belt when driving

• Stay on the main roads

• Keep doors locked

Hotel Safety

• Choose reputable hotels

• Put valuables in hotel room safe

• Use peep hole before answering the door

• Keep doors locked

• Ask hotel staff about “safe” and “unsafe” local areas

• Become familiar with exit doors and routes

• Have important documents at the ready (passport, etc…)
