DESCRIPTION

The dory is an old style of rowboat that has a rich history and varied use. It has been stacked on schooners and used to fish the Grand Banks by people from North Atlantic countries including the US, Canada, France, Spain, the UK, and Ireland. It has been used as a lifeboat or tender. It has been sailed transatlantic in 1903 by a former fisherman who lost his fingers. It has been rowed transatlantic. It is used to guide people through rapids, such as in the Grand Canyon. It has been enlarged and used as a hull design for small cabin-cruisers. Its iconic look and beautiful lines makes its popularity enduring. I built one and launched it in 2007.

The dory is a flat-bottomed boat, lightweight with a sharp bow…
