Choosing a Resort / Wedding Site

www.destinationweddingsurvivalguide.com

Once you've chosen your destination it will be time to choose your resort and/or

wedding site.

If you haven't done so make sure you also read,

"Choosing a Destination" before you get started here

Choosing a resort can either be a place for you to stay or it can be where you stay and where

you get married so we'll look at both.

What to Consider in a Resort as a Place to Stay

Are you a 5 star resort kind of girl or a quaint, off the beaten

path, hang with the locals type?

You might even be a "something in between" gal but I'm going to list some things you will want to find out about the places you're

considering as your place to stay.

~ How many rooms do they have total (you need to know there will be plenty of rooms for you and your guests)?

~ What is the price per night including any taxes or surcharges?

~ Is there a honeymoon suite, and if so, what is the price?

~ Are you able to reserve blocks of rooms?

~ Can they accommodate any guests with special needs?

~ Do they offer connecting rooms (if needed for large families)?

~ What are the different room types and how does the price differ for each?

~ What's in the room (i.e. air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, personal safe, closet with hangers, bathtub, balcony/patio, etc.)?

~ Do they pride themselves on their service? On their food? On their cleanliness?

~ Is there internet access in the room (if needed for you and/or your guests)?

~ Is there internet access on the property? If so, what's the cost?

And all other QUESTIONS…

What to consider in a Resort as a Place to Get Married

If you are looking to have your wedding at the resort where

you're staying, here are some tips about what

you'll want to ask the resort

~ Do they offer an on-site wedding coordinator?

~ How can they be accessed (phone, email, etc.)?

~ What times do they offer for your ceremony?

~ How many weddings do they book per day?

~ Do they have a curfew or volume restriction on music and partying?

~ Do they have wedding packages and if so what's included - and can you make changes/substitutions?

~ Can you hire your own vendors or are you required to use theirs?

~ How are the wedding spaces usually decorated and what can you change?

~ How far in advance do you need to select your wedding choices?

This should get you started on the path to choosing a resort to

stay at and to possibly get married at.

Do you have any other suggestions or

Destination Wedding ideas to add to these lists?

Be sure to leave your questions answered.
