“A Day at the Beach”

A Day at the Beach is a concept book. It’s is an ideal tool to supplement and reinforce concepts associated with experiencing a visit to the beach. The pictures and text should

be a starting point to begin a dialogue with children. This book may foster children to interpret pictures, helping to connect meaning of text through illustrations. The repetition

of text creates familiarity for the child. Adults may utilize this to exchange a ritualized dialogue to engage children through a scaffolding dialogue to gain knowledge and

concepts unique to A Day at the Beach.
