OPERATING PRINCIPLE:• The sun tracking solar panel consists one LDR, solar panel, a simple gear motor & ATMEGA8 microcontroller.

• One light dependent resistor is arranged on the edge of the solar panel. LDR produces low voltage when light falls on it.

• When the value in ADC pin of micro controller is more than 45, the panel is rotated in the right side.

• Again when the value of ADC pin of micro controller is less than 20, the panel is rotated in the left side.

• When the value is near zero like in the night time the solar panel is again rotates toward the left side & waits for the next morning for sun light.

APPLICATION:

• These panels can be used to power the traffic lights & street lights.

• These can be used in home to power the appliances using solar power.

• These can be used in industries as more energy can be saved by rotating the panel.

• This is the most efficient option for rural & remote areas.

FINAL OUTCOME:

PROS:

• The solar energy can be reused as it is non renewable resource.

• This is the most efficient option for rural & remote areas.

• This also saves money as no need to pay for energy used.

CONS:

• Though solar energy can be utilized to maximum extent this may create problems in rainy season.

• Although solar energy can be saved to batteries, they are heavy & occupy more space & required to change time to time.

CONCLUSION :

• The circuit that I found from internet is not efficient enough as shadow sensor. So, I improved my circuit as my own which is more sensitive and effective practically.

• In my project, the panel is continuously rotated toward the direction of sun. This is done to absorb maximum solar energy & this renewable energy is stored in the battery.

• The most important skill that I achieved during my project is that I have improved my technical knowledge about the electronic circuit and I have enjoyed very much while completed the project
