What HARDWARE means?

● Computer hardware is the collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system.

External components..

Monitor/Display

● This device which operates like a TV set lets the user see how the computer is responding to their commands

Keyboard

● This is where the user enters text commands into the computer

Mouse

● A point and click interface for entering commands which works well in graphical environments.

Speaker

● They receive audio input from the computer's sound card and produce audio output in the form of sound waves

Microphone

● A microphone is a device that captures audio by converting sound waves into an electrical signal

Case

● The computer case is a plastic or metal enclosure that houses most of the components.

Internal components

Power supply

● A power supply unit (PSU) converts alternating current (AC) electric power to low-voltage DC power for the internal components of the computer.

Motherboard

● The motherboard is the main component of computer. It is a large rectangular board with integrated circuitry that connects the other parts of the computer including the CPU, the RAM, the disk drives(CD, DVD, hard disk, or any others) as well as any peripherals connected via the ports or the expansion slots.

DVD/CD ROM LIVE

● This is normally a read only drive where files are permanently stored. There are now read/write CD-ROM drives that use special software to allow users to read from and write to these drives.

Harddisk

● This is where your files are permanently stored on your computer. Also, normally, your operating system is installed here.

Reader all-in-one internal

● Is a device for accessing the data on a memory card such as a CompactFlash (CF), Secure Digital (SD) or MultiMediaCard (MMC). Most card readers also offer write capability, and together with the card, this can function as a pen drive

Sound card

● Is an internal computer expansion card that facilitates economical input and output of audio signals to and from a computer under control of computer programs.

VGA CARD

– Is an expansion card which generates a feed of output images to a display (such as a computer monitor).

RAM

● Is a form of computer data storage. A random-access memory device allows data items to be read and written in approximately the same amount of time regardless of the order in which data items are accessed.

CPU

● Is a computer processor that incorporates the functions of a computer's central processing unit (CPU) on a single integrated circuit (IC),[1] or at most a few integrated circuits.
