THE CABINET WAR ROOMS The Cabinet War Rooms

were originally used as shelters for the government members during the bombing of Britain. After that, they became “secret” meeting places for the British during World War 2. Here, they planned attacks against the Nazis. It was basically control room where the army planned their movements there.

STONEHENGE

Stonehenge, is an ancient site located in Wiltshire, Britain. It is a prehistoric monument that dates back to the first stones being erected in 2400–2200 BC according to archeologists. It is composed of a circle of standing stones. In the center, there are dense, complex monuments dating back to the Neolithic Period and the Bronze Age.

France

THE BASTILLE

The Bastille was a fortress, and a prison. Located in Paris France, it played important roles in France’s history. It was stormed during the French Revolution, and became an important symbol for the French Republican Movement.

PALACE OF VERSAILLES

It is a chateau found in the area of Versailles hence the name The Palace of Versailles. It was built 20 kilometers southwest of the capital of France and served as the center of political power in France until the royal family had to move to the capital after the start of the French Revolution.

THE GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZAThe Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the oldest pyramids found in Egypt. It was built by one of the ancient pharaohs Khufu, and is one of the seven wonders of the world. One special thing about this specific pyramid is that it is the only pyramid in Egypt known to contain both passages that go both up, and downwards.

THE GREAT SPHINX OF GIZA

The great Sphinx of Giza is a great sculpture made of limestone of a Sphinx, which is a mythical creature that has a lion body and a human head. It was built on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile at the believed time of the reign of the pharaoh Khafra who ruled at the time of 2558-2532 B.C.E. It is one of the largest monolith statues in the world.

HAGIA SOPHIA

Hagia Sophia, located in Istanbul Turkey, had a very long history. It was first an Orthodox Basilica, then it became a mosque, and it is now a museum. It was originally a church that was built back in the time of Constantinople, but was then converted into a mosque in 1453 when the Ottomans invaded Constantinople.

SULEYMANIYE MOSQUE

The Suleymaniye Mosque is an Ottoman Imperial Mosque located on the Third hill of Istanbul, Turkey. It is thought of to be the second largest mosque in the city and is one of the best sites. It was built from 1550-1558 AD for the Sultan Suleyman. It is a mosque that is said to rival Hagia Sophia in size, but is still smaller.

HIROSHIMA

Hiroshima is the capital of the Hiroshima Prefecture, and is located in the Chugoku region of western Honshu which is the largest island in Japan. It is historically famous for being the first city being under attack, from some of the first, war used nuclear bombs. It also has historical importance, dating back to the Sengoku and Tokugawa Period of Ancient Japan.

Nagasaki is the capital of the Nagasaki Prefecture, and is located on the island of Kyushu. It is historically famous for being the second city being under attack, from some of the first, war used nuclear bombs. It also has historical importance, from when the Portuguese found it in the second half of the 16th century which put it under European influence between the 16th century and the 19th century.
