AFTER WWII, A NUMBER OF PEOPLE INDEPENDENTLY STARTED TO WORK ON INTELLIGENT MACHINES. THE ENGLISH MATHEMATICIAN ALAN TURING MAY HAVE BEEN THE FIRST. HE GAVE A LECTURE ON IT IN 1947.
