SET FOCUS PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

• The SetFocus BI Master’s Program is an intensive, hands–on, project oriented program allowing knowledge and valuable experience putting the BI skill set to use in a simulated work environment.

• I received 400 hours of in-depths hands on experience focused on the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.

• SetFocus projects are real world projects that are distributed just as I would receive in a position. I received project specifications and was expected to identify best courses of action with deadlines set for completion.

DATA MODELING

This Relational Model was used for designing an application for a Construction Company

SQL PROGRAMMING

This query displays only those products with “washer” in the name. The report summarizes Total Dollars by Product.

This query first creates a procedure that will execute for a specific Vendor Account , Start Date, and End Date. The procedure joins three tables to get the desired results.

This query displays the top 5 ranking Week-ending Dates based on the Sum of the Total Due column.

SQL SERVER INTEGRATION SERVICES

(SSIS)

SSIS Control Flow Diagram for Master Package, (this package is responsible for the execution of all of the other packages in the Project).

This package contains a Foreach Loop Container which is used to loop through files in a folder to process Time Sheets.

The Data Flow Task demonstrates the process of updating/inserting the Job Time Sheet table in the database based on data coming

from a flat file source, which is first converted, and then validated.

MDX PROGRAMMING

MDX Query which displays employees and hours worked during Q4 2005, and 4 periods prior.

This MDX query shows Jobs in ascending order based on the Purchase Amount, further broken down by material type within

the Job. This is a partial display of the output.

This MDX query displays all Clients with “Inc” in the name, and Total Labor Cost > 5,000.
