Agenda / Objectives:Attendance

Teachers will learn how to take attendance in the gradebook system.

Grade BookTeachers will be able to create assignments in the gradebook system by giving the assignment a name or title as well as an identifying abbreviation.Teachers will be able to input grades.Teachers will be able to post grades at the end of progress report and report card periods.

PlannerTeachers will be able to copy assignments from one class period to another.

Campus ToolsTeachers will be able to discover information about their students including address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and other vital information. Teachers will be able to find a summary of student attendance. Teachers will also be able to look at students’ previous grades.

Teachers will be able to find resources to help create lessons using the SLDS system in Infinite Campus.

Taking Attendance:

• To take attendance… you need to be on the Campus

Instruction Screen.

• Click on ATTENDANCE in the left hand toolbar. A list

of students who are currently enrolled in the course

will appear.

Taking Attendance:

• Mark the students who are

absent by clicking in the A. 2

• Mark the students who are

tardy by clicking in the T .

• Record any known comments

in the Comments field.

• Click the Save icon when

finished. Attendance has now

been saved.

Create Assignments:

• To create assignments and input grades … you need to

be in Campus Instruction Screen.• Click on GRADE BOOK in the left hand toolbar.

Create Assignments:

• Click on ADD Button.

Detail:

On this screen,

you will give

your

assignments a

name and

abbreviations.

Abbreviations

can be no

longer than 5

characters.

You will also

include a

beginning and

ending dates of

the assignment.

Detail:

You will click on

9 Week Grade.

Next, you will

choose a

category.

Then, enter the

maximum

grade.

Click SAVE.

Once the assignment has been saved, it will

appear in your grade book.

You may enter grades in each box for each

student.

After entering each student’s grades, click Save.

To Post Grades…

Click Post and another screen will appear.

Copy Assignments:

• To copy assignments, click on PLANNER in the left hand toolbar.

Copy Assignments:• Click on the class that you want to copy an assignment from.

Click Copy assignments from

this section.

Click in the Copy To

Box.

Choose the class that

you want to copy an

assignment to.

Click the box beside

the assignments that

you want to copy.

Click Next.

Click Copy.

Student Information:

Click the grid at the top right hand corner.

You will have a choice of Campus Tools or Campus Community.

Click on CAMPUS TOOLS.

To find out information on each student, click on GENERAL under the Student Information tab.

Type in a student’s name (Last Name, First Name) to receive the information.

After the student profile appears, you can click the tabs above the student’s name to find out

student’s attendance, grades, schedule, etc.

Assessment 1:

The presenter of the staff development will use a checklist of each section of the staff development to prove that

the teachers are able to accurately use the program. This is using teacher observation as the main source of

assessment. Teachers will use assignments and grades from their students to input assignments and grades into

Infinite Campus.

Assessment 2:

Teachers will be given a list of information that can be found under the Campus Tools. Teachers will find the given

information for a student of their choice. Teachers will be told to show that they can find the information given by

writing it down; however, they will be reminded to give a pseudo name due to confidentiality.

Assessment 3:

Teachers will create a lesson plan or activity that they could use in their classroom from the resources available on

SLDS.
