Register Your Domain Name This will be the name of your website; the bit after www and before .com and it is one of the things that Google looks for when it creates the search listings, so preferably, it should be:

1. relevant to your niche

2. easy to remember

3. unlikely to be mis-spelled

Get Some Hosting A hosting provider is just the place where the files and data that make up your blog/ website will be stored.

Usually it’s a massive, air-conditioned warehouse full of rows and rows of servers and cabling, but who cares?

All you will do is rent some hard-disk space by setting up a monthly account with your name, email address and a credit card.

Just go for the smallest, basic package at the start; you don’t need anything else.

Link Your Domain to Your Hosting Your hosting provider will give you two nameserver,

or DNS addresses, that will look like this:

ns1234.yourhost.com ns1235.yourhost.com

Go back to where you got your domain name, log in to your account and copy those addresses into the appropriate boxes.

Now, when someone types in your domain name, they will be sent to your hosting provider, where you will be building your blog or website – instead

of your domain provider’s holding page

Install WordPress on Your Domain Go back to your hosting provider again. Log in to your control panel and look for the WordPress icon, or install wizard.

Follow the instructions, point the wizard to your domain name, which will come up in the list and press install.

You will also be asked to set up an admin login and password, so that you can edit your site.

That’s it. Done!

You don’t even need to go to WordPress.com It’s all handled by your hosting provider.
