How to find an article

Click on the + symbol beside the word

“General.” The General category has access to

a number of differing subject areas.

If your chosen topic is more specific, consider

searching within one of these other subject

areas. For example, if you plan on investigating

a health-related topic, then check out the

databases listed under the “Health and

Medicine” header at the top.

Academic Search Complete comes highly

recommended, but feel free to check out

any of these databases.

Click on the lower case “i” beside the

database’s name to get more information

about it.

Enter your search terms in these boxes. If you

don’t get any results, make sure that you are

spelling words correctly. Also try synonyms for

the words that you are using.

If you’re looking for a peer-reviewed

source, you can use this limiter to filter out

popular sources.

To learn more about a source on your list of

results, click on its title.

Full text will be provided in either PDF or html format.

PDFs are preferable because they include all

pictures, graphs, and page numbers found in the print

document.

The toolbar on the side of the page offers some nice

features.

You can email articles to yourself to make sure that you

don’t lose track of them.

You can save copies of PDFs directly to your computer.

You can even click on the “Cite” icon to see how you

should document the source on your works cited page.
