First Attempt

- 10:10 AM- Throws grenade at car

• Driver speeds up- Ferdinand deflects bomb- Car behind Ferdinand’s blows up

First Attempt cont.

• Cabrinovic swallows cyanide pill- Jumps into river- Cyanide pill doesn’t work- Gets arrested

• Other conspirators- Have second thoughts- or think Cabrinovic succeeded

Princip Encounters Ferdinand

• Ferdinand- Convinced to leave Sarajevo

• Driver takes wrong turn- Onto Franz Joseph Street- Backs up accidentally to Princip

• Princip fires shots• The couple dies of wounds

shortly after shooting

Aftermath

• Princip- Arrested- Not executed because he was only 19 years old- Dies of Tuberculosis in prison
