There are 2 ways to provide content to your audience

1. Sharing Content Sharing is easier, it is simply reposting

information from other users2. Original Content

Creating your own post from pictures, links, video and text

Sharing Content

Facebook allows you to share content from other users with your friends.

The best place to find content to share is on your “News Feed” on the “Home” tab Clicking

“Home” at any time will bring you to this page

The Newsfeed shows a variety of posts from all of the pages you “like”

From the Newsfeed you can find content to share on your page.

By clicking Sort you can choose to view Top Stories or Most Recent.

Top Stories: the stories that have been the most popular (most likes, shares, comments)Most Recent: the most recent posts sorted chronologically

Go through the Newsfeed daily to find content that your audience may find interesting Sort the Newsfeed ▪ first by Top Stories ▪ then by Most Recent

Try to share at least 3 posts from other users daily

When you find a post you want to share, click the Share button on the options under the post

Photos, videos, links and contests are ways to inform and engage!

UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Facebook page does a great job of engaging their users.

“Fill in the blank” posts encourage people to be creative and interactive.

For example, you can post a fill-in-the-blank question such as My New Year’s resolution is _____.

Post a picture and ask people to come up with the best caption.

Facebook users love photos Make an effort to include a photo

with most of your posts If you cannot use a photo, make sure

you embed a graphic or a link to your post

AVOID POSTING WITH TEXT ONLY!!

stand out better than text alone on the newsfeed

See how ALFA used a picture to draw your eye to the post about Food Day?

Even though the picture did not contribute any additional information!

The short text from the NCBA gets lost on the newsfeed. Users are less likely to read it.

Photo Riddle of the WeekEvery Monday, they post a zoomed in photo and ask their audience to guess what the photo is!

•Users, comment to guess what the picture is.•When a user gets it right, they are instructed to email someone to claim a prize!

Create a photo contest to win a prize Photo contests can:

Promote an event like the Sunbelt Ag Expo

Collect photos for a website or database Crowdsource photos for an event that

you cannot photograph on your own ▪ Example: FFA national convention in Indiana
