• Austin is a friendly place but it is still a city.• Need a ride home? Call the cab numbers on

your emergency card.• Theft is not unusual on the UT campus. Lock

belongings at the gym and take them with you at the library.

• Be aware of your surroundings.• 6th Street and Guadalupe areas

• City bus line• Ride 50 cents one-way/ $1 roundtrip• Must have exact change or bill• Routes that run along Guadalupe can take you

downtown, to South Congress shopping area, to Wheatsville Co-Op Grocery Store and to Barton Springs

• Night buses run from downtown to campus

UT Shuttles

• Everyone rides for free• Orange buses around campus• Routes run throughout campus and a few run

beyond campus to places within Austin• Example: The Red River/ Cameron Road

Shuttle (RR/CR) runs from 23rd and San Jacinto on campus to the HEB Grocery Store on Red River and 41st Street
