Issue, Standardizing Data presentation locally and at NASA Headquarters

• Issue: Earned Value Management (EVM) Project data is presented in many forms at Goddard and NASA Headquarters– This leads to an uncertain understanding of the project’s earned value

management data.– Earth Sciences, Code 420, at Goddard wanted to use the same earned

value data for the project and for the program executive• Solution:

– Include slides that defined the terms and acronyms used– Coordinate the data and presentations between the Project Manager

and the Program Executive

Hesenperger/Kottmyer: 2012 PM Challenge 4

• Issue: Manual production of charts consumes a significant amount of time• Solution: Automate the process of producing chart by using Deltek

wInsight Desktop and Deltek wInsight Professional– Deltek MPM Connect extracts data from Deltek Micro-Frame Project

Manager (MPM) via an XML file that imports in to Deltek wInsight Professional

– wInsight defines charts and graphs and filters– Briefing Wizard uses wInsight charts and graphs and filters to

automatically produce PowerPoint slides in a few seconds
