CONVERTING BIOMASS AND OTHER WASTE MATERIALS INTO CLEAN AND
AFFORDABLE HEAT ENERGY AND ELECTRIC POWER
FMA ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT 17 PRESENTATION
SEPTEMBER 15 - 17, 2013
© 2013. AGRIPOWER, INC. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Many thousands of enterprises pay to dispose of Biomass and other waste materials generated by their own operations.
They also pay for electricity and natural or propane gas or diesel fuel oil to produce heat and hot water and to power and heat (or cool) their businesses.
Many are looking for an affordable way to comply with environmental laws that regulate the disposal of their waste materials.
Many want on-site “Energy Security”, “Reliability” “Resilience” and “Self-Controlled Operation”.
The Problems

Our Technical Advantages
6
7
Their primary (lower) extended combustion chamber provides longer dwell time to completely and cleanly combust the fuel and enable compliance with EU requirements.
Their high temperature extended (upper) combustion chamber cleanly and efficiently combusts volatile chemicals. Reduces pollution and enables plywood (glue) and painted and creosote treated wood to be used as fuel.
They can operate from 2,200ºF down to 1,000ºF which is below the chemical reaction point of many troublesome emission materials.
They use a unique over-, under- and mid-fire air design that provides greater flexibility to cleanly combust a wide variety of wet, dry and mixed fuels.
Minimal residual ash (1 - 3%); automated stoking and ash removal.
Their proven software enables maximum operating flexibility, continuous System optimization and constant emissions compliance.

Combustor Features
• We use several Waste Heat Generators (“WHGs”) obtained from “Best of Breed” suppliers (P&W, GE) and contract manufacturers that are selected for our customer’s specific requirements.
• Some high temperature WHGs operate at 600ºF instead of at 200ºF for greater heat, hot water and steam outputs.
• Some of our WHGs use a high efficiency hot oil system instead of a low efficiency hot air system.
• These WHGs will produce considerably more net electrical output and greater customer value in high temperature, high humidity locations which is where most Biomass is produced (e.g., output of about 120 kW vs. about 70 kW).
• The WHGs’ flexible design enables them to be operated in parallel so we can offer our customers customized Systems with from one up to six WHGs.

Using Biomass as a fuel helps to combat climate change. That’s because Biomass is often considered “carbon neutral” because the carbon dioxide released when it is combusted is eventually absorbed by other Biomass as it grows. So, unlike natural gas or fuel oil, Biomass releases no net carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is a closed-loop energy source, simply re-circulating the carbon dioxide already within the Earth’s carbon cycle. And it’s a perpetual, renewable fuel source.
Combusting Biomass Is Carbon Neutral
