The Indian Badminton League is a tournament

The IBL is approved by the Badminton World Federation

& the Badminton Asia Confederation

IBL is based on the format followed in the Sudirman

Cup

• There will be 5 matches in each round

Mens & Womens Singles; Mens, Womens & Mixed Doubles

• Each team will play 18 ties of best of 5 matches

2 ‘Quick’ rules at the IBL

• The victor will be the one who first reaches 21 points in the first 2 games and does not need a 2 point difference

• If the game goes to the 3rd and decider set, it will be an 11 point match

Each franchise needs to have:6 Indian players

4 Foreign players1 Junior National player

The tournament will consist of 18 team matches

across 6 cities over 18 days

Shuttle Express to build a badminton legacy at the grass root levelA school has been selected in each of the 6 franchise cities: - Genesis Global School (Delhi) - Indus World School (Hyderabad) - La Martiniere Boys (Lucknow) - Jamnabhai Narsee (Mumbai) - Symbiosis Primary (Pune) - Jain International School (Bangalore)

Training programmes & coaching sessions will be conducted at each of the schools & an Intra School Badminton Tournament would be conducted with a Badminton Icon Player attending it.
