The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England in the late 19thcentury

named as “lawn tennis”

In 1976, the first oversized racquet was made and got popular by delivering the much easier techniques to

The major tennis tournaments are played mainly in 3

types of surfaces are ;-

Grass court

Clay court

Hard court ..

But currently as per their features, the surfaces are

divided into 5pace settings :-

Category 1 (slow) Category 2 (medium-slow) Category 3 (medium) Category 4 (medium-fast) Category 5 (fast)

Wimbledon is the only major tournament that played on grass surface..

The U.S open and Australian open are played on hard

courts and French open on the red clay court..

In 1875, the tennis courts are constructed

rectangle wise where previously they were hour-

glass shaped.

the ball use is 20mnts only.

The longest match played in history is for 3days where the duration is 11hrs and 5mnts …… and the shortest

match of tennis is for 20mnts..
