Cornelius, a Believer from the Nations (Gentile) Receives a Vision

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. (Acts 10:1-2)

Abba Father Hears His Prayer and Gives Him GPS-like Directions.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

Cornelius RespondsWhen the angel who was speaking to him had gone, Cornelius summoned two of his household servants along with a pious soldier from his personal staff.

Peter went up on the roof to pray

He Had A Vision:10 He became hungry and wanted to eat. While others were preparing the meal, he had a visionary experience.

What Did He See? And Hear?:11-13 He saw heaven opened up and something like a large linen sheet being lowered to the earth by its four corners. Inside the sheet were all kinds of four-legged animals, reptiles, and wild birds. A voice told him, “Get up, Peter! Kill and eat!”

Kepha’s (Peter’s) First Response“Absolutely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

What Was The Response To This Objection?

:15 The voice spoke a second time, “Never consider unclean what God has made pure.”
