HUMILITY

From that time, on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

1. REPENT

MEEKNESS

“Come, follow me,”Jesus said,

“And I will make you fishers of men.”-Matthew 4:19

2. FOLOW ME

JOYFULNESS

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you

and falsely say all kinds of evilagainst you because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven,

for in the same way they persecuted the prophets

who were before you.” -Matthew 5:11-12

3. REJOICE

Generosity

“In the same way, let your light shine

before men, that they may see your good deedsand praise your Father in Heaven.”

-Matthew 5:16

4. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Love

“Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish

them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the

smallest letter, not the least stroke of pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until

everything is accomplished.” -Matthew 5:17-18

5. HONOR GOD’S LAW

Responsibility

“leave your gift there in front of thealtar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

-Matthew 5:24-25

6. BE RECONCILED

Self Control

“If your right eye causes you to sin, guoge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than your whole bidy to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than your whole body to go into hell.”

-Matthew 5:29-30

7. DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY

TRUTHFULNESS“Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’

‘No’ anything beyond this comes from evil.”

Matthew 5:37

8. KEEP YOUR WORD

DEFERENCE“But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”

9. GO THE EXTRA MILE

CREATIVITY

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

10. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

SINCERITY

“If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collector doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”

-Matthew 5:46-48

11. BE PERFECT

FAITH“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. So that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

12. PRACTICE SECRET DISCIPLINES

FAITH“And when you pray, do not be like hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth , they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”-Matthew 6:1-8

THRIFTINESS

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

INITIATIVE

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

14. SEEK GOD’S KINGDOM

DISCERNMENT

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

15. JUDGE NOT

DISCRETION

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.”

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

“So in everything, do to others what you would

have them do to you, for this sums up the Law

and the Prophets.”-Matthew 7:12

18. DO UNTO OTHERS

DECISIVENESS

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only few find it.”

19. CHOOSE THE NARROW WAY

ALERTNESS

“Watch out for false prophets, they come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”

20. BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS

COMPASSION

“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

WISDOM

“I am sending you out like a sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewed as snakes and innocent as doves.”

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body not but can not kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

“If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over,”

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?Jesus answered, “ I tell you, not seven times, but seventy seven times.”

“Not so with you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.”

34. BE A SERVANT

“It is written,” he said to them, “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a ‘den of robbers.”

35. BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER

PATIENCEJesus replied “ I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

36. ASK IN FAITH

HOSPITALITY

Then Jesus said to the host, “ When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back so you will be repaid, But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame , the blind and you will blessed. Although they can not repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

CAREFULNESS

“Show me the coin for paying the tax,” They brought him denarius, and he asked them, whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?Ceasar’s they replied. Then he said to them, “Give to Ceasar what is Ceasar’s and to God what is God’s”

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
