PROVERBS 22:7

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

`EBED (eh'-bed)

a servant, a slave,

in bondage

Sometimes, we don’t want to talk about money in the church because we think

it’s unbiblical.

But, two-thirds of the parables dealt with money

and possessions.

In Gospels, 1 of 10 verses deal directly with money.

There are 2,300 verses in the Bible; five times as

many as prayer and faith.

THE TEMPTATION OF MONEY AND THINGS

WE ARE TEMPTED TO SERVE MONEY.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will

hate the one and love the other, or you will be

devoted to the one and despise the other. You

cannot serve both God and money.

MATTHEW 6:24

WE ARE TEMPTED TO LOVE MONEY.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered

from the faith and pierced themselves with many

griefs.

1 TIMOTHY 6:10

Whoever loves money never has enough;

whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with

their income. This too is meaningless.

ECCLESIASTES 5:10

Our problem is not an income problem – but it is a lifestyle problem – and it is a spiritual problem. WE NEED JESUS IN OUR LIFE.

A GODLY PERSPECTIVE

ON MONEY

WE DON’T SERVE MONEY - WE SERVE GOD.

MONEY SERVES US AS WE SERVE GOD.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love

one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

ROMANS 13:8

19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and

vermin destroy, and where thieves break in

and steal.

MATTHEW 6:19-21

20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths

and vermin do not destroy, and where

thieves do not break in and steal.

MATTHEW 6:19-21

21 For where your treasure is, there your

heart will be also.

MATTHEW 6:19-21

Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your

guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does

not consist in the abundance of his

possessions.

LUKE 12:15

Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody

and have no food.

PROVERBS 12:9

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little

can also be trusted with much, and whoever is

dishonest with very little will also be dishonest

with much.

LUKE 16:10-11

11 So if you have not been trustworthy in

handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with

true riches?”

LUKE 16:10-11

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food

and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.

PROVERBS 21:20

6 But godliness with contentment is great

gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world,

and we can take nothing out of it.

1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10

8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content

with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation

and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires

that plunge men into ruin and destruction.

1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of

evil. Some people, eager for money, have

wandered from the faith and pierced themselves

with many griefs.

1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10

MONEY PROMISES WHAT ONLY GOD

CAN PROVIDE

MONEY PROMISES US SECURITY.

MONEY PROMISES US SIGNIFICANCE.
