Today’s Scripture:

When you hear of someone stepping off the stage of this world, where does your mind tend to drift?

It is better to go to the house of mourning than to

go to the house of feasting, for this is the end

of all mankind, and the living will take it to heart.

~ Ecclesiastes 7:2

“Consider now: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Where were the upright ever destroyed? As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it.

At the breath of God they perish; at the blast of his anger they are no more.”

When you go through a period in your life in which your life is going smoothly, you are in very dangerous territory spiritually…. There is no greater crisis than to have no crisis in your life. There is no greater danger than to have no sense of danger in your life.

~ Tim Keller, Pastor & Author Redeemer NYC

Take care lest you forget the Lord your God…, lest when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in

them, and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is

multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will be lifted up, and you

forget the Lord your God….

~ Moses in Deuteronomy 8:11-14

Do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to

repentance?

Why does Luke record this account in his historical

biography of Jesus?

Important Question

There may be no more important time to turn to God than when

things are going well in your life.
