Against God

As an angel in heaven, Satan feels he is powerful enough to overcome God. He begins to

wage a war against the almighty.

The Battle of Angels BeginsSatan conjures up enough angels to follow his belief, and a starts a battle of

good and evil.

War in Heaven

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels

Michael Battles Lucifer

The Warring Angels Call A Truce

Lucifer and his angels are defeated and no longer allowed into heaven.

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rebel Angels Hurled From

Heaven

And the great dragon was cast out,

that old serpent, called the Devil, and

Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth,

and his angels were cast out with him.

Hell Receives Defeated Angels

Satan Rises From the Burning LakeSatan rises up to claim hell as his own domain and delivers a rousing speech to his followers

("Better to reign in hell, than serve in heav'n"). The logic of Satan (Satanic Logic) is introduced by: "The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven."

Satan Speaks to His Legions

For who can yet believe, though after loss,

That all these puissant legions, who exile

Hath emptied heav’n

Satan still wants to battle for his belief in his right of power. He speaks to his followers and is angry that they have been casted out of heaven. He calls for a meeting with all the demons at

his Palace.

Here Beelezub tells Satan of a new world being built by God. This new world is to be home to man.

Satan Holds Court in HellSatan begins to organize his followers andnames Mammon and Beelzub as his

lieutenants. It is decided here that Satan will poison the newly created Earth.

As Satan journeys to Earth, he sees sin and death at the

gates of hell. Sin was born through a burst

of flame out of Satans forehead before he began his

war with God.

What thing thou art, thus double-formed,

and whyIn this infernal vale first

met thou call’st Me father,

and what phantasm call’st my son?

I know thee not, nor ever saw

til nowsight more detestable

than him and thee.
