Romans 8 1 There is therefore now no condem-nation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the Law could not do, in that it was weak through through the fleshthe flesh, God sending His Own Son in the like-like-nessness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the Righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in usin us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of GodSpirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of ChristSpirit of Christ, he is none of His.

Every believer receives the Lordreceives the Lord into his heart, in the PersonPerson of the Holy Ghost,

When he becomesbecomes a child of God,

In the moment of salvationsalvation!

Spirit of God = Spirit of Christ = Holy Spirit

So, why does God's Holy Spirit have more have more influenceinfluence in the lives of some Christians

than in others?

Some Christians embraceembrace the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and resistresist the devil.

While others resistresist the things of God, while embracingembracing the world, its pleasures, and its things.

They resist prayerprayer and worshipworship;; they resist the Word of GodWord of God;; they resist going to churchgoing to church.

They resist submissionsubmission and obedienceobedience.They want to go their own wayown way; do their own thingown thing.

1 Thessalonians 5 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray with-out ceasing. 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

"Rejoice evermore"Rejoice means to be cheerfulbe cheerful;

calmly calmly happyhappy and well off.

Embrace this.

17 Pray without ceasing.

Never give up on praying.

Pray every day.

Pray throughout the day.

Pray: … to pray to God, i.e. supplicate, worship pray (× earnestly, for), make prayer.

Worship is notnot for God's benefit, but for oursbut for ours.

18 In everythingeverything give thanks: for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

GratefulSay the words out loud.

"Thank You Lord."

Be specific:"Thank You for saving me."

19 Quench not the Spirit.

Quench means to put out the fire.

Don't put out the fire of the Spirit.

Move with the Spirit.

Willing

20 Despise not prophesyings.

To prophesy is to speak what God sayswhat God says about a matter.

What God saysWhat God says is all that matters.

None of these have Wisdom; only God.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Prove means to test.

Does that mean try it and see if we like it?

Test it in the test tubetest tube of the Word of God.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

The obvious question is, "appear evil to who?"

If GodGod says it's evil, then it is evil.

If GodGod is silent, then let us be silent; ignore criticizers.

How did we get here?

Does anybody remember?

Why does God's Holy Spirit have more have more influenceinfluence in the lives of some Christians

than in others?

Do you want more of the Power of Power of GodGod at work in your life?

Cultivate a submissive mindsetsubmissive mindset to His Word and Spirit.

Do you want more of the giftsgifts of the Spirit?

Don't resist Him in anyany thing!

Learn to hear and know His Voice.

God willwill give you the gifts you need to do His Willdo His Will.

Do you want the fruit of Godfruit of God produced in you?

To lovelove and be loved?

To be filled with joy; happyhappy all the time?

Do you want the peace of Godpeace of God abiding in you, so that you will be

at peace withinwithin and withoutwithout?

Be a willingwilling and obedientobedient child of God.

Joyful endurance

All of the good thingsgood things of God come, as we willinglywillingly live our lives His WayHis Way.

God will withholdwithhold no good thing from His children who love Himlove Him.
