Romania Week 2 : 21st-27th July

With a word from Joshua 1 led by Samuel

Sunday Worship together after breakfast

Then fond farewells with the English Camp

followed by a roadtrip to the reservoir

Lot of tourists about Darren!

Monday 22nd July

Day 8 – Romania Camp Begins!

And a 6km hike to camp doesn’t even phase them!

The Camp theme is “IN JESUS’ ARMY” based on the story of Gideon in the book of Judges

Are you sure we’ve come to the right camp John?

Meanwhile, shuttering is in progress and more concrete is on it’s way ...

What’s that noise over there in the trees Jim?

Looks like a good place for our teens Bible Study!

Guess what just arrived?

He comes from a long line of builders you know ...

Ha Ha. Not much fun being the end of the line you know!

Then it’s tent Meeting time!

Hmm – I wonder where they dug him up from!

Great to get started Romanian Camp at last! Do you think they’ll know I’m not a local Sarah when I’m dressed like this?

I hope this lunch is worth waiting for

Tuesday 23rd July

Day 9 – First full day of Camp

Mmmm – definitely!

Foarte Bine!

These salt dough balls are just like Mum’s scones!

But they are for making Gideon pots!

Drill looks tough on the parade ground this afternoon!

Will we make them run round In circles until they are really tired John?

But not half as tough as James & John on the sports field!

The new owners are even wanting to move in already!

The chalets are coming on well

Hmmmmm

I’m beginning to see the ‘point’ in

all this now David

Just away to get some more Tea & Buns

for the ‘Likely Lads’!

Wednesday 24th July

Day 10 – Volleyball court restored!

But first children’s roll call 8am

Then after breakfast, Morning worship

Then Study time in age groups with games ...

... Story time and of course ...

Bible study in small groups

Followed by games related to the study

Thursday 25th July

Day 11 – More Camp Mayhem & Fun ... including a group photo.

After lunch comes activities – ‘Gideons Army’, ...

‘relaxing’ games with James & John ...

... and crafts

No show without Punch (& Judy/Naomi too)!

Then afternoon rehearsals for tonight ...

& free time of course which now includes volleyball!

Then evening worship complete with puppets ...

and ‘more’ drama with the teens ...

Meanwhile building goes on ...

Finishing the blockwork in the eaves

And preparing shuttering for the last load of concrete

Thursday 25th July

Day 11 – More Camp Mayhem & Fun ... including a group photo.

Talent Competition Auditions!!!

Crafts with Naomi & Sarah

Army Camp and ...

Then ’games’ with the 2 NI torture experts

Great idea to have water torture instead of physical torture today John!

Now we’re going to make our own cage and lock ourselves up (hee hee hee) ...

Meanwhile on site ...

Blockwork continues ...

As well as shuttering work in preparation ...

... for tomorrows concrete delivery.

Friday 26th July

Day 12 – Concrete & last full day of Camp!

It’s gotta be in there somewhere!

Meanwhile the clan gathers for competitions ...

... and prizegiving

A special meal with our old friends at Draganului

Our very last Camp Meeting of 2013 ;-{

Followed by what the locals call ‘Fire-Camp’

Saturday 27th July

Day 13 – Camp goes home and team goes to Cluj

The two chalets are finished as far as we can go

So we head for Cluj and call off at the family church building

Not very busy here on a Saturday

Checking out the local sights as we go!
