The Gospel of

John:

“Believe”

John 19:34-35

[34] But one of the soldiers

pierced His side with a

spear, and immediately

blood and water came out.

John 19:34-35[35] And he who has seen

has testified, and his

testimony is true; and

he knows that he is

telling the truth, so that

you also may believe.

A Clash of Powers

A Clash of Powers

1) Power of the Jewish leaders.

A Clash of Powers

2) Power of the Romans.

A Clash of Powers

3) Power of Satan.

A Clash of Powers

4) Power of Jesus.

John 18:33-37[33] Therefore Pilate

entered again into the

Praetorium, and

summoned Jesus and

said to Him, “Are You

the King of the Jews?”

John 18:33-37

[34] Jesus answered, “Are

you saying this on your

own initiative, or did

others tell you about Me?”

John 18:33-37

[35] Pilate answered, “I am

not a Jew, am I? Your own

nation and the chief

priests delivered You to

me; what have You done?”

John 18:33-37

[36] Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were

of this world, then My servants would be fighting

so that I would not be handed over to the Jews;

John 18:33-37

but as it is, My kingdom is

not *of this realm.”

[37] Therefore Pilate said

to Him, “So You are a

king?” Jesus answered,

John 18:33-37

“You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I

have come into the world, to testify to the truth.

Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

John 19:8-12

[8] Therefore when Pilate

heard this statement, he

was even more afraid;

John 19:8-12

[9] and he entered into the

*Praetorium again and

*said to Jesus, “Where are

You from?” But Jesus

gave him no answer.

John 19:8-12[10] So Pilate *said to Him,

“You do not speak to me?

Do You not know that I

have authority to release

You, and I have authority

to crucify You?”

John 19:8-12[11] Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from

above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you

has the greater sin.”

Why Did Jesus Die?

1) Real forgiveness is costly suffering.

Why Did Jesus Die?

2) Real love is a personal exchange.

The Surprise Winner

1 John 1:7[7] but if we walk in the

Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one

another, and the blood of Jesus His Son

cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2:2

[2] and He Himself is the

propitiation for our sins;

and not for ours only,

but also for those of

the whole world.

1 John 3:16

[16] We know love by this,

that He laid down His life

for us; and we ought to

lay down our lives

for the brethren.

Let’s be people

that believe, and

become part

of His kingdom!
