EPHESIANS 3:14-2114 For this reason I bow my knees beforethe Father, 15 from whom every family inheaven and on earth is named, 16 thataccording to the riches of His glory Hemay grant you to be strengthened withpower through His Spirit in your innerbeing,

EPHESIANS 3:14-2117 so that Christ may dwell in your heartsthrough faith — that you, being rootedand grounded in love, 18 may havestrength to comprehend with all the saintswhat is the breadth and length and heightand depth, 19 and to know the love ofChrist that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullnessof God.

EPHESIANS 3:14-2120 Now to Him who is able to do far moreabundantly than all that we ask orthink, according to the power at workwithin us, 21 to Him be glory in the churchand in Christ Jesus throughout allgenerations, forever and ever. Amen.

1. PRAYER IS PERSONAL.

EPHESIANS 3:1414 For this reason I bow my knees beforethe Father.

Sometimes in the Bible, people sit to pray, sometimes they stand to pray,

sometimes they’re lying in bed and they pray, and here we see that the Apostle

Paul is kneeling in prayer.

Remember in our personal prayer:- God always answers.- We change.- God acts.

PRAYER,

NOT GRUMBLING

Grumbling is where we leak, and we complain, and our attitude

is sour, and our disposition is dour.

Who do you talk to first? Who do you call first?

Is your first instinct, “Text them, call them, e-mail them”?

Make sure it’s always Him. First person we’ve got to talk to is

the Lord.

PRAYER,

NOT GOSSIPING

Gossip is when you talk about someone rather than to them.

2. PRAYER IS RELATIONAL.

EPHESIANS 3:14-1514 For this reason I bow my knees beforethe Father, 15 from whom every family inheaven and on earth is named.

3. PRAYER IS ASKING.

EPHESIANS 3:16-1716 that according to the riches of Hisglory He may grant you to bestrengthened with power through HisSpirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christmay dwell in your hearts through faith.

Here is the big idea:

-God is independent. He doesn’t needanyone or anything.

- We are dependent; we need God for everything.

4. PRAYER IS YEARNING.

EPHESIANS 3:17-1917 so that Christ may dwell in your heartsthrough faith — that you, being rootedand grounded in love, 18 may havestrength to comprehend with all the saintswhat is the breadth and length and heightand depth, 19 and to know the love ofChrist that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullnessof God.

5. PRAYER IS EXPECTING.

EPHESIANS 3:20

20 Now to Him who is able to do far moreabundantly than all that we ask orthink, according to the power at workwithin us.
