Benevolence

• Good-will

• Charitableness

• Kind feelings

1 Corinthians

• The church which is comprised of individual saints came together and aided the church in Jerusalem.

• We can work together to support other churches or we can do it individually.

Individual benevolence

• Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

• Acts 5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also knowing it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Individual benevolence

• Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

• Acts 5:4 While it remained, was it not your own? and after it was sold, was it not in your own power? why have you conceived this thing in your heart? you have not lied unto men, but unto God.

Benevolence• Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the

word share with him that teaches in all good things.

• Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

• Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Benevolence• Deuteronomy 15:12 And if your brother, a Hebrew

man, or a Hebrew woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

• Deuteronomy 15:13 And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty:

• Deuteronomy 15:14 You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress: of that with which the LORD your God has blessed you, you shall give unto him.

Evangelism

• Telling the good news

• Telling the world that a Savior died for men!

• Inviting others to know about GOD!

Evangelism (Apostles)• Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke

unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

• Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:

• Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Evangelism (Individual)• Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time you ought to be

teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food.

• Hebrews 5:13 For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

• Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Evangelism (Church)• Philippians 1:5 For your fellowship in the gospel

from the first day until now;

• Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

• Philippians 1:7 Even as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; since as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.

Edification

• Building up of the saints

• Strengthening the body of Christ

• Encouragement through the scriptures

Edification

• 2 Corinthians 12:14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

• 2 Corinthians 12:15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

Edification• 2 Corinthians 12:16 But be it so, I did not

burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I took you with guile.

• 2 Corinthians 12:17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?

• 2 Corinthians 12:18 I urged Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

Edification

• 2 Corinthians 12:19 Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

• Turn with me to Ephesians 4:7 and following.
