A reading from the first letter of St Paul to Thessalonians

May the Lord be generous in increasing your love and

make you love one another and the whole human race as much as we love you. And may he so confirm your hearts in holiness that you

Prayer of the Faithful

Celebrant: My brothers and sisters, as we prepare for the coming of Our Lord Jesus in this Advent season, let

us earnestly ask his mercy, as we pray for the Church and for the

world.

1. We pray for Francis, our Pope, for Vincent, our Cardinal, and for all priests and religious, that they teach us with the authority given them by the Lord Jesus, helping us to live the kinds of lives that

we were meant to live. Lord hear usAll: Lord graciously hear us

2. We pray for all Christians, that they may be more and more aware of

their unique mission in the world, and so strive to serve mankind by reflecting Christ in all they say and

may always be conscious that true peace is based upon the dignity of man,

Mary, our Mother, you prayed for the coming of God’s kingdom, and accepted the great task that He

asked of you. Help us to prepare for his coming as we say:

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our
