Mark 11:1-111 As they approached Jerusalem and came to

Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,

2 saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.'"

Mark 11:1-114 They went and found a colt outside in the

street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, "What

are you doing, untying that colt?" 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to,

and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and

threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the

road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.

Mark 11:1-119 Those who went ahead and those who

followed shouted, "Hosanna!""Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

10 "Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!“ "Hosanna in the highest!"

11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

Zechariah 9:9

“… See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

1. The REQUEST ….

“The Lord needs it …”Q. Why a colt …

‘which no one has ever ridden’… ?

Ancient ‘rule’ :

“only animals that had not been used for ordinary purposes were appropriate for sacred purposes”

Eg Num 19:2; Deut 21:3; 1 Sam 6:7

1. The REQUEST ….

“The Lord needs it …”The same question is asked of you and me TODAYWhat’s ‘it’ ? - possession ….

- time ….- service, ministry, …- Reading His Word …

Q. How will you reply ?Q. What will be your reply ?

1. The REQUEST we need to HEAR

1. The REQUEST we need to HEAR

“The Lord needs it (you) …”

• Triumphal entry of Jesus ….• What is the ‘miracle’ ?• Do you see any ‘miracle’ ?

2. The Miracle ….

2. The Miracle ….

Answer : The ‘Miracle’ is in v2

‘… which no one has ever ridden…’

So, What’s the ‘miracle’ ?

Jesus sat on an ‘un-broken’ donkey !

2. The Miracle we need to SEEWe can read God’s Word ….

We can hear God’s Word ….

And yet miss the ‘miracle’….

Same with everyday life…

We take a lot of things for granted …

We forget God is continually at work –

Col 1:17 ‘in him all things hold together.’

John 12:19 – A very, very large crowd...

Luke 19:39 – The Pharisees were upset…

BUT no matter what …

PRAISE needed to be DECLARED…

PRAISE was DECLARED ….

PRAISE will continue to be DECLARED …

3. The PRAISE we need to GIVE

Q: Why were the people PRAISING JESUS ?Psalms 118 – a Messianic PsalmMessiah …Savior …Deliverer …

4. The SAVIOR …Messiah – the ‘Anointed One’

People’s Expectation Vs God’s Plan

People’s Expect. = God’s Plan

People’s Expect. God’s Plan

May explain why only 5 days later

“Crucify him, crucify him ….”

4. The SAVIOR ….• Jesus came to be the Savior of all men & all time…
