What are the causes of body dissatisfaction?There is wide acceptance of our current cultural ideal of beauty and body image. This means that people are under a lot of pressure from multiple sources to conform to these standards. This is associated with a very high rate of body dissatisfaction in our society, especially among adolescents who are particularly vulnerable to this pressure.
