6 Helpful Packing Tips

If you are getting ready to move, you probably have realized it can be a time consuming and stressful

process. However, if you try these helpful packing tips, you can make your next move as easy as possible!

1. The Golden Rule

• Always pack heavy items, such as books and files, in small boxes.

• Lightweight items, such as linens and pillows, can be packed in large boxes.

2. Electronics

• Best-case scenario for packing electronics such as TVs and computers is to use the original packaging/box. However, if you don't have the original boxes, you can use heavy-duty TV boxes.

3. Furniture

• Couches: remove furniture legs and place in a plastic bag; wrap couches, love seats & recliner in blankets/furniture pads.

• Dressers: empty drawers and take them out of the unit; remove hardware and keep in plastic bag; wrap wooden dressers and drawers with furniture pads/bubble wrap.

• For all other furniture (tables, dining chairs, etc.), take apart as many pieces as you can so it's easier to transport and protect them accordingly with blankets, pads, etc.

4. Kitchenware

• Fragile items like glasses, dinnerware and other ceramics should be wrapped in bubble wrap or inkless newspaper.

• Place flatware in large Ziploc/storage bags.• If you stack pots and pans, be sure to put layers of

newspaper or bubble wrap between each item.

5. Label

• Write on every single box after you seal it to make unloading more organized

6. Hire Movers

• Check out moving companies in Nashville to transport your items to your new address because they can do all the heavy lifting, which will save you from grunt work and provide you with faster loading and unloading times.
