DESCRIPTION
The QuikFoot Bracket System is designed to be installed on slate roofs for new or existing (retrofit) solar panel applications, and is accepted by most major roofing manufacturers without voiding warranties. The QuikFoot system features a patented, watertight seal with fastener holes provided. Ease of installation makes this one of the fastest attachment points to install in the industry. Customized solutions are available to match any proprietary hardware on the market. QuikFoot meets or exceeds all known building codes and has been tested for pullout and shear.

QuikFoot Slate Roof Installation
Step 1Determine desired install location and mark the install course with a chalk line for future reference. Before you start you should also determine the general location of the rafter you will be fastening into.

Step 2Remove the slate surrounding your installation location.
Step 3With the surrounding slate removed, locate the rafter under the roof deck and position the QuikFoot base plate over the rafter and just above the slate two courses below the install course.
Step 4Install the supplied screws through the QuikFoot base plate and into the rafter. An 18v cordless drill works best for this procedure. Note: Set the clutch on the drill so that you do not over tighten the screw and strip out the threads.
Step 5Replace the slate you removed from the course below the install course, cut the slate as needed so that the slate fits around the QuikFoot base plate.
Step 6Add the included QuikFoot shims until the overall height is equal to or just above the top surface of the install course.
Step 7Install the flashing.
Step 8Replace the slate you removed from the install course, cut the slate as needed so that it fits around the QuikFoot base plate.
Step 9Replace the remaining slate from the course above the install course.
