National park is relatively large area where: Ecosystems can not be altered by human activity. Govt. has taken step to prevent exploitation. Visitors are allowed under special conditions.

1: Kirthar National Park

2nd largest park of Pakistan. Established in 1970. Located in Sindh. Established to protect wild Goat and sheep of sindh.

Species:26 Species of mammals present

including Sindh ibex, chinkara, jackal, hyaena, jungle cats, leopard, Pangolin, Porcupine and mongoose.

Bird includes at least 58 hoopoe, wabbler, kingfisher, eagles, vultures .

Reptiles are lizard, geckos, chameleons, turtles, tortoises and snakes

2:Chinji National Park:

Located in district Chakwal (punjab).

Proposed mainly to protect and preserve the Urails.

very important and intresting from paleontological view because number of fossil have been collected from here.

This park is natural home for Urial, chinkara, gazelle, wild boar, civet, wild here, mongoose, and porcupines.

3.Hazarganji chiltan National Park:

In Baluchistan near Quetta.

Established in 1978.

Main objective is “to save chiltan markhor.”

Species:• Animal: Wolves, hyena, wild

cats, hares and porcupine.• Birds: see-see patridges

chukor, wabbler, shrikes, rock pigeons, eagles, falcons, bearded vultures, hawks.

• Reptiles: Monitor lizards, geckoes, cobras and vipers.

4.Khunjerab National Park Established to protect the

Marco Polo sheep. Located in Gilgit Baltistan

OF PAKISTAN.

Khunjerab National Park is Pakistan's third largest National Park

The park was established on April 29, 1979 by Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Species:Include Bharal, snow -leopard,

and Himalayan ibex,wild ass, Brown bear..

Bird: Golden eagle, vulture, Marsh harrier, Eurasian sparrow, hawk etc.

5.Margala Hills National Park

Established in 1980 Very rich in ever

green plants.

6.Chitral- Gol National park:It is established in 1984The park is rich in trees

particularly Cedar treesLocated in chitral district

KPK.

Chitral National Park still holds the largest population of the Astor Markhor in the world.

Markhor, snow- leopard, snow- cocks, snow- patridges, greenwood pigeons , urial, and chukor.

Ayubia National Park is a small national park in the Murree hills.

8.Deosai National park

Deosai means the land of Giants.

also known as central karakuram national park.

Established in 1993. This park protect the

survival of the ”Himalayan Brown Bear” and its habitat.

The Deosai Plains are also home to the

Himalayan Ibex, Red Fox, Golden Marmot, Gray Wolf, Snow Leopard, Birds in the park include

the Golden Eagle, Griffon Vulture, Laggar Falcon, Peregrine Falcon

9.Lal suhanra National park:It is located in Bhawalpur (southern punjab).It was declared National park in 1970.The main objective of this was to save

Black-buck, Chinkara and some other important species.

302 species of plants. 119 species of birds. 27 species of reptiles. 3 of amphibians. 23 species of fresh water

fish. Mammals: black buck,

chinkara, nilgai, caracal, jackal, wild boar.
