HRM FUNCTIONS

Stratrigical Planning

Find the wizards that could bring happiness to their customer

“We want you to be Happy”

Recruitment

Disney cast members aren’t just hired for a job; they play a role in the “show.” Every aspect of the casting (hiring) process is a presentation of the Disney culture

Disney hires attitude over aptitude “We can teach someone to drive a bus. We cant teach them to smile and be happy”

Selection

In the job description, include the skills and behaviors that the best employee for the job would have.

Use behaviorally based questions as a part of the interview process Pepper in questions that test for cultural values by listening for key

repeatable messages from the applicant

Training and development

"We spend a lot of time training and immersing trainees into the culture,"

"There are six full weeks of training before a new cast member even sees a guest." Williford said.

A Trained Princess

Employee satisfaction, not customer satisfaction, should be a leader’s priority. Employee satisfaction will trickle down to the customer.
