Soft Hits on Credit Reports

Did You Know?

Most insurance companies now use a form of a credit report to develop insurance

rates for their policies.

Insurance Myth

Myth:

Running credit for a home owners policy

will impact a customer’s credit score.

Insurance Reality

Reality:

An “insurance score” does not affect a client’s credit score because it creates what is known as a “soft hit” on their credit report. Soft hits don’t create a request for credit or a credit inquiry in the same way that applying for a credit card orloan would, thereby leavingthe credit score intact.
