STEM - Year 2

This year the PTA raised money, spent moneyand brought together our community for many

events. We wanted to share – and thank you forsupporting STEM, staff, students, families, and

our community.Enjoy!

OVER $100,000.00AND WITH THIS MONEY….

We raised money. Lots of money. LOTS of money for it being only our second year.

We bought K-2 assessments

We bought lab supplies including microscopes, loupes, pulleys, scales, weights, goggles, mixing bowls, thermometers, measuring cups and spoons.

We bought Science textbooks

We bought art supplies including colored pencils, paints, markers, crayons, oil pastels, brushes, paper and

glue

We supported the library

We bought unicycles & 2 giraffe unicyles

We bought staff a color printer, vacuum, and microwave

We bought a display case and bike rack

We bought headphones for the tech lab

We bought vocabulary curriculum

We supported PE - bought an Ipod

We bought “grab and go” emergency backpacks and water for every classroom

We raised money for Project Based Learning

with the 2nd Annual Direct Give

And we did all this too:

• We sent teachers to trainings (TAF Academy and Singapore Math)• Bought PBL workbooks for teachers• Bought staff T-shirts• Organized and supported Teacher Appreciation Week and Administrative Professionals Day• Bought reflective safety vests• Sent PTA to represent at legislative Assembly• Bought literacy circles supplies• Bought lunch buddies supplies• Organized school photos • Bought musical instruments• Secured Boren as a permanent home• Purchased Leveled Readers for younger grades • Sound Partners tutoring materials • Read Live tutoring subscriptions• Accepted as a viable K-8 roll-up• Actively advocating for STEM interests during AH co-housing years• Funds for PBL planning Provided funds for supplies and field trips as related to PBL projects• Advocated for Math In Focus, Singapore Math for all students in Seattle Public Schools

STEM IS COMMUNITY.

We played, we learned, we made friends and became better friends, and we ate.
