But also, permissions are hard. And stressful. They can get over-complicated quickly.

But also, permissions are hard. And stressful. They can get over-complicated quickly.

How can we break this into manageable chunks?

How can we build this for our target users?

All the tasks, one dashboard

First: Build a dashboard + nav that can scale for variable permissions and notifications.

Launched July 28

Next: Company level permissions

Solve the problem but stick to principles

•Simple, fast: Small number of easy to understand permissions; too early for groups

•Guiding: Instruct users which permissions are for which roles; require admin status before adding permissions

•Scales: One overview screen, two entry points; flexible framework

I want to take [x] + [y] + … action across the company, and nothing else.

How about everyone on one page?

Hmm, how about “superusers?”

Ok. Now how about at the permission level instead?

Lets add admins on the same page. Drop the photos?

Got it.

Got it.

Got it.

Third: Manager Workflow

Solve the problem but stick to principles

• Simple, fast: Turn on/off. Limit “groups” until later. Take action via email.

• Guiding: Defaults. Clear communications. Roll ups and transparency for senior levels.

• Scales: Lay foundation for groups as new features are rolled out.

I want to take [x] + [y] + … action for my direct reports, but nothing else

Launching soon….
