Moken Viral presentasjon

This is the story of the Moken, an indigenous community of sea nomads living off the coast of Burma and Thailand.

They have lived in their traditional boats for over 3500 years, so their maritime knowledge is unique.

But, they are citizenless and, like all indigenous people, they’re fighting for survival.

We aim to engage people to contribute to the survival and future of the Mokens.

To enable them to create a sustainable future and empower all of us to make a difference.

Project Moken has a documentary film at its heart, but aims to engage and involve the world through a unique online campaign

This is the idea

The Moken people have used a

special tree in their boat-building

traditions for thousands of years.

Until now.

The Burmese and Thai governments

refuses to let the Moken people

continue this tradition resulting in the

deprivation of their culture.

We want to create a digital

tree, growing with the names of

thousands of people in support of the

Moken people.

If called for, the tree will later be used

as a petition towards the Burmese

and Thai governments.

Help us build the biggest tree in the

world in order to sacrifice one that

can save an entire culture.
