Belgium has the oldest Independent Fiscal Institution among OECD countries, it was
established in 1936.
Belgium is one of the most decentralised OECD countries; in terms of public investment, state and local government investment accounts for
over 90% of total government investment.
Trust in government in Belgium decreased from 60% to 44% over the 2007-12 period, one of the largest decreases within the OECD.
