Homemade Scented Candlesby

IntroductionJust like others candle lovers, I also love having candles lit in my home. Aside from creating the house look attractive and comfy, they can also be very relaxing and calming. I took a decision to try a homemade lavender scented candle recipe that I found. It is easy enough to make a scented candle at home and maybe it increase double the relaxing effect, since lavender is already a calming scent for me.

Materials you will need

2 pounds soy-wax chips

6-inch wick with wick tab

Glass vessels, such as canning jars, in

various sizes

Lavender essential oil

Skewer Transparent glass paint (optional)

Process

Step 1: Place wax chips in a heatproof glass measuring cup.

Heat in microwave for 30 seconds; stir. Repeat until smooth

throughout.

Step 2• For each candle, cut wick to height of vessel

plus 2 inches. Dip wick tab in melted xwa and center at bottom of vessel. Wrap other end of string around skewer and knot. Rest skewer across top of vessel

Step 3: Scent wax by mixing in essential oil, about 30 drops for each cup of wax. Fill each

vessel a quarter of the way and let set, about 10 minutes. Fill rest of vessel and let set until firm,

several hours. Trim wick. If desired, use glass paint to tint exterior of vessel before filling

Step 4: I didn’t think of this while I was doing it but I imagine you could even put lavender petals (or other flower petals) in the wax too. And of course you can add tint to make it a nice lavender color, if you desire.

Thank you all.
