Textures and Patterns Design Showcase

Use of textures and pattern designs are common these days, replacing a

standard background color and image. They are used in different styles

to improve the look and feel of a site. Some sites incorporate textures in

headers, footers, content areas, sidebars and even in fonts. Although

textures are most often overlooked, it can add richness and depth to an

otherwise minimalist or flat website designs.

A texture must support the overall design of your web development

strategy, making the content easier to perceive. In fact, wood texture

has been used extensively, well we don’t see it as a revolutionary trend

since it is not used everywhere but experimenting with it can improve

the work. Still you have some other options beyond wood: e.g. fabric

patterns, ground, stone, tiles, walls, bricks, stitches, cardboard,

ceramics, decay, rust, old tapes, illustrations, plastic and glass. For us, a

realistic and vibrant background image is a new trend.

In today’s article, we present a showcase of websites using textures and

patterns – so that you can focus on other options beyond wood.
