Manual Creation for child medical record
Lack of communication between vertical programs for the age group (0-5)
Lack of sharing information about the child across the programs and therefore it was not possible to link health conditions and treat them together.
No follow-up action for those who did not attend the required check-ups.

Mother and Child Health program is a Module in MoH Healthcare Information Management System (ALSHIFA); it is an Oman Ministry of Health initiative. ALSHIFA is a comprehensive and complete solution for healthcare facility management from electronic medical records to Assets, Inventory, FA and HR management.
– The in house developed system is installed in 200+ healthcare facilities of varying size and capabilities.
– An integrated, defragmented and easily accessible EMR that provides 360 degree view of the patient history and clinical information needed for a point-of-care

Provides a holistic primary care for pregnant mothers (pre-natal care, post natal care, secondary infertility, and birth spacing )
Records are made available throughout their pregnancy from primary healthcare center to the hospital through the Healthcare system
Full Appointment System with SMS facility and reminders

Vaccination list and activities are incorporated to the patients’ record
Verifies if the vaccination is valid, medication history and ultrasound scan is also captured and stored in the patient record as well as the entire history of pregnancies
Once the baby is born, the child record is created in the system and a holistic approach to treatment and management of child illnesses in the age group 0 to 5 is carried out
