GLOSSARY:

Seedbed: (noun) a bed of fine soil in which seedlings are germinated.

Harvest: (noun) the process or period of gathering in crops.

Priming: (noun) the leaves are gathered and brought to a curing bam as they ripen.

Stalk-cutting: (noun) the entire plant is cut and the plants are allowed to wilt in the field before being taken to the curing barn.

Air curing, flue curing, fire curing: (noun) there are different kind of dried.

Bundles: (noun) a collection of things, or a quantity of material, tied or wrapped up together.

Moistening: (verb) humidify.

TOBACCO IS INITIALLY GROWN IN OUTDOOR FRAMES CALLED SEEDBEDS.

TOBACCO PLANTS ARE HARVESTED BY ONE OF TWO METHODS.

NEXT, THE LEAVES ARE CAREFULLY, GRADUALLY DRIED.

AFTER MOISTENING, THE TOBACCO IS STRIPPED.

OVER A CONTINUOUS ROLL OF CIGARETTE PAPER IS DISPERSED BY THE FINAL SHREDDED TOBACCO.

EACH CIGARETTE IS GRABBED AND AFTER IS FASTENED IN ONE END BY A DEVICE.

ABOUT 25-30 CIGARETTES A SECOND CAN BE PRODUCED BY MODERN CIGARETTE MACHINES.

THE COMPLETED CIGARETTES ARE PACKED TO A PACKAGE.

CIGARETTES ARE SOLD TO PEOPLE BY SUPERMARKETS.
