History of Hong Kong

Soldiers, Marines and Special Forces of Hong Kong’s past

Most of the soldiers that died in Hong Kong were foreigners and also people from other

countries.

Reasons of DeathsMost soldiers and civilians died of these causes:

• Drowning

• High fever

• Cholera

• Killed in action

• Accidents

• Missing in Action

Reasons of War • Opium wars:

caused by foreigners forcing the Chinese to buy opium

• World War II: caused by the invasion of the Imperial Japanese Army

Marines, Seamen, and Crewmen

Many ships sunk during the wars due to the many battles in Hong Kong’s seas. A lot of people that died were also

civilians and children.

Diseases and illnessesThe forces of Hong

Kong suffered from many diseases such as Cholera and Typhus.Our group

thought that there was a lot of diseases in that

period of time because the army camps was

really dirty.
